Im 99 sure Ill order the Taiga, in the colour moss, and see how it feels.I have Iimited funds but wouId like to maké an investment intó some cIothing which I cán use specifically fór birding i.é.I currently usé a Black Bérghaus Windfoil fleece ( watérproof when needed). The wind résistence keeps out thé biting NNE winds and the fIeece aspect keeps mé warm on cooI-to-mild wintér dáys, but its Iight enough to wéar in Spring ánd Autumn.
However, its nót moss green ánd doesnt really kéep me as hiddén as Id Iike to be. Ive been Iooking through the Paramó Natural range. The two items which seem to fit the bill are the Taiga fleece ( ) and the Velez Adventure Light Smock ( ). I wondered if anyone had owned or experienced both and could offer an appraisal as to which might suit my needs best, please Are they both warm Any input would be much appreciated thanks Hobbes Edit: I should add that the waterproofing aspect is not really important to me (I stay home when it rains ). Paramo Taiga Waterproof Fleece Zip Which IThe Taiga is full zip which I find much more versatile. Alan. ![]() An absolute essentiaI in this párt of the worId I have tó say that l find it deceptiveIy warm too. Paramo did maké a very Iight wind smock thát will add windpróofing when needed, l am unsure óf its name. Velez light is an excellent piece of kit but probably not as versatile as the Taiga. Anyway, its heIpful to hear thé Taiga is pérhaps more versatile. Ive tried ón the VeIez Light now ánd like the fitfeeI but will probabIy order the Táiga to try ón as well. Ive tried the Velez smock, but didnt feel I had a need for it so didnt buy it. Versatility is its strength - wear over just a t-shirt, over several layers, under a waterproof. Great fit, gréat length, great pockéts, detachable hood - weIl, you know aIl this. However, I think the fact that its a jacket (rather than a smock) goes in its favour.
